Flash Player Version Problem AGHHH

Hey - Whenever I go to a website that has the flash player detection script on the first page, it ALWAYS says i’m out of date, but any other site that doesn’t have it, and that just lets me through, works. I know I have the most up to date player, i uninstalled my player compeltely, restarted, reinstalled from the macromedia website, restarted, then tried again. Still, the detection failed and is saying i have an out of date player. But, I animate, publish, and view on the internet in Flash Player 8. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

Look at the version number in the Publish Settings for the detection script, is it lower than the version your have? I think the default is 8.0.0.0, and there has been another release since Flash 8 was released [currently 8.0.24.0 (Unless you have 8.5.0.x)].

Yeah… the script is probably checking to see if you have an extact version number, rather than any number above whatever… try a different site and I bet it’ll work.
