Hello Kirupians:

Kirupa awarded me 2 SOTW awards way back when… However, my style has changed and I really didn’t want my portfolio to over shadow my work so I created a simple interface with simple transitions al in Flash.

Thoughts are welcomed. Thanks!

Awesome. I love the transition animation.

I would like to create some similar animation, some day.

Great work!

That is great use of motion

I must say your fonts are reeeeeeally small

Great jorb! Not gonna look good on a 1280 x 1024(or whatever) res monitor.

The transitions are great, the colors can comfortably be looked at for a longer time; they just look good.

The font is way to small IMO, sorry, I couldn’t even read what was written there without moving my head at a distance of 15 cm to the screen.

Although the site looks great I guess I wouldn’t take to effort to read all you wrote due to the problems I have concerning the font size.

Other than that probably an onPress action to get back to the navigation might be better than an onRollOver.
It took me a few moments to find out what’s happening there.

the text size is killing me. i gave up tryin to read!

your design will still look good if you change the font, i know for sure that you’r not gonna be able to change the font size since it’s a pixel font. look for a diffrent font.

it has a great feel

other than i have nothing to add.

I’m on a 21’ monitor and I can read the fonts fine, but I’m getting a lot of feedback regarding the fonts being too small, actually I do have a larger looking font but still at size “8”.

thanks!!

lol. Yea I couldn’t read the fonts either. Can you guess which button I did press though. X

Also, whaddaya mean you don’t want your portfolio to overshadow your work? That’s crazy talk.

Crazy talk? When I first started out in design and flash I spent so much time trying to make my portfolio kick-*** that I forgot the whole reason why I was doing this - to get clients.

Now that I have clients and making a pretty decent living off of it my time spent is catering to my clients rather than trying to impress everyone with my skills. There are a lot of people who actually do this, here’s a few links:

There’s more links I could give you but I think you see my point. Your portfolio can look simple because you don’t know who’s coming to your site for services. If it’s all flashed out with bg music and way too much animation then a corporate client may get turned off, so it’s good to balance the layout and interface of your portfolio between simplicity and complexity.

Hope this made sense - sorry for the small fonts LOL :sen: As for crazy talk I guess it could be crazy talk if you’re just starting out…
