Flash viewing problem on browers and IE on mac

OK… here’s the link… www.jamiebyers.com . It’s not complete yet for those who want to navigate around, but for some reason, 2 of the flash movies in the html file will not work correctly.

First off… it seems to work fine in IE on a PC. But, on a PC using some other browser such as firefox, netscape and stuff… it doesn’t work. But it is odd though, that the music player and news section works and even my skinny little bars with copyright info comes up. Now the music player uses a good bit of scripting and was surprised when it came up. But the top bar is just a graphic that uses a preloader and is really just an animation of the temp logo. I use the same preloader on that as I do with the bottom swf files. Now the big middle area is my main portion of the site. I still have lots to add to the site, but just trying to test it to make sure it works. So anyone who sees it, feel free to post feedback of criticism. Also if anyone knows why this could be happening, please let me know. It would be great if it would at least be viewable on a mac. Thanks to everyone who can help and opinions.

hi there

sorry I can’t help you with your problem, I’m viewing with IE on a pc. but as for critisism, I think that when your page is coming up there is too much movement and sound going on… I think you should coordinate that a bit and give it more of a rythm… :run:

best regards | dave

yeah… when everything loads so fast… and comes on… the sounds do get a bit repetitive and too much… I may just take off some sounds… but I’m not big into creating custom sound effects. I do appreciate your input and hope to get more.

thanks

In my Mac browsers, it says those two movies “can’t be found”. Sometimes I’ve noticed letter-case probems like this. If the flash file is Topbar.swf, but the html file is looking for topbar.swf, it won’t show online. Pretty annoying. This is also true within Flash – if you load into a level with a slight case-sensitive difference it won’t work either.

Thanks Jim… I did change it so when you get a chance to check again… please do and let me know. I won’t be back on here to check for a few days, but will as soon as I get back. Thanks again…

OK the top bar loads in now, but Jamiebyerscom.swf still doesn’t. Very Eno-like music.

Thanks Jim… I fixed the uppercase J… I thought I already did that, but apparently not. Try it now and let me know if it works…

BTW… the music is by Justin Durban… good stuff…

Yep, it all works now.

AWESOME!! thanks for your help Jim…
