Floating Flash / DHTML / Safari problem

A couple -o- questions regarding floating some Flash content over a page.

  1. Is it possible to put a DHTML layer containing Flash OVER other Flash content appearing on the root of the page? My floating content )Z Index -2) always appears over the HTML text and images but UNDER any Flash content.

  2. The next one appears to be Safari / Mozilla? related.
    To close my floating advert I have done one of two things.
    a) go to an empty frame in the timeline
    b) unload the movie

These methods work fine using IE on the PC, however either method presents a problem in Safari.
Even though the floating content disappears, the links below (the page root) remain unaccessible.

Anyone have a solution?
