FLVPlayback connection latency with IE6 but not Firefox

I’ve posted around online regarding this but no response elsewhere. Then I remembered all the smart folks are at Kirupa.com :wink:

I’m having a rather serious latency problem with the ActiveX Flash player 9 and the FLVPlayback component when within IE6 on Windows. There’s no issue when using the standard Flash 9 plugin within Firefox.

The problem is that the status bar is just sitting there and the stream connection is not initiated for quite some time. Eventually (in some cases minutes later) the connection is established.

Again, this only appears to be a problem with IE6 on Windows (XP).

Does anybody have any ideas as to why this happens in IE6? Any work-arounds? (aside from not using IE6 :smirk2: )
