[FMX] audio tutorial

Hey everyone!

I was just doing the ‘loading techniques’ tutorial on kirupa website… I’m trying to get the mp3 to dynamically load and everything was working fine until i tried importing the .swf into an htm file… then suddenly the audio file wouldnt play!? :frowning:

does anyone know why this happens?

*i think its when you open the file through internet explorer that it doesnt work…

Works fine for me…

I checked in IE6 and NS7 and am running on Windows XP.

Maybe it could be something with your Internet Options (Tools/Internet Options in IE), but I don’t see what would effect it in there :-\

Are you giving it enough time to load the sound? I run a cable modem and it took about a second or 2 for the sound to load, but if you are running a 56K or something it might take longer.

I have no clue why it won’t work for you :frowning:

You could put the .mp3 file in a .swf and use loadMovie I suppose. That is the only other way I can think of to stream sound in Flash.

Are you speakers on??? (stupid question, but trying to cover every angle…lol)

You can stream “Real Audio” from your page itself but then you’ll need a converter that will convert mp3 to Real Audio format.

hmm or i can just stream wma files in html…

There is a way to stream wma files, I don’t know how, but I have seen it.

Maybe the help files in Windows Media Player will help you.
