You don’t have any MovieClips or anythig in there. Download the source file provided and then try to edit that…

my suggestion to you is go through the lessons that are included with Flash. They teach you how to make symbols like buttons and movieclips and they give you an overall basic knowledge of Flash. It seems to me that you don’t even understand what a movieclip is. Once you have done the basic lessons, then come back and ask questions. The tutorial that you are following is very easy if you know the basics of flash. There is no reason that you shouldn’t be able to do it.
i know how to covert symbols move them ect.
