Okay… :-\
I’ve been working with flash for about a week and a half, and I’m making a Flash version of my portfolio, and I’ve got a pretty specific action I want to happen when a section is clicked.
The movie consists of 6 different layers that come in from the left, and each one of these layers will essentially act as the “stage” for a particular section. The action I want to be performed is that clicking on a link will move the other layers out of the way, making room for the particular section that’s been clicked.
The problem I’m having is that I don’t want to have to create umpteen number of possible movements for the movies. I am thinking there has to be a way to tell Flash that if LINK 1 has been clicked and moved into position, that clicking LINK 4 should move all layers from where they are at into the right position - without jumping.
As I wrote above, I can do it by creating a complex series of switches and then many, many, many different groups of frames, just calling and sending when a new link has been clicked. But this seems awfully archaic to me. There just has to be a more dynamic way to accomplish this.
If you view this movie, you’ll see how clicking the second link will cause the movie to “jump” into a position, and then move smoothly into place.
It’s really hard to explain if you haven’t seen the movie So I’ll just wait until a couple of the smarter, more experienced blokes on this board have had the chance to view the movie, and then I can give more specific feedback based on your questions.
If you’d like to view the .FLA movie, you can download it at http://www.bleutuna.com/bleutuna.com_6_wmusic_chris.fla - be warned, however, it’s over 7MB, as I haven’t had the chance to clean it up yet.
So, please…if you can help me, I’d be mucho appreciato
