FPS: "Frames Per Second" VS "Foiled; Potentially Screwed!"

You know that feeling when you’ve done something and realized there is something largely wrong with the universe? That’s me right now.

I had to make a quick video with flash. Real simple; rotating images with a Voiceover and a bit of video at the end. When I asked the specs I was told I should make it for broadcast - so, that’s 720 x 480 with a framerate of 29.97…

I’m told now that it needs to be an intro animation to a webpage (I personally think it’s too long, but I obey). I had never tried a nearly 30 fps swf in a browser before, but of couse the results are atrocious and the audio and visuals no longer sync up. Terrible.

I am hoping someone can tell me that there is a simple trick in AS or some kind of third party app for helping this stream better or helping me rejig this to 12fps? Please tell me there is hope…
