Hey, does anybody know any good tutes for frayed edges, stitching, canvas textures, etc…? Is my question too vague?

i think for stitching you could just draw a series of little lines with the airbrush, and then give them a bit of a layer style (i.e emboss of some kind) to make them look a bit 3d…
my image is pretty amazing huh? it took me about 5 seconds… that’s how i’d do the stitching (but obviously better) and then just apply some kind of emboss so it looks a bit 3d and real. I think the best option is just that single line, not the cross stitch or anything, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
for canvas textures, i personally would just get a photo of some canvas. I’m sure there’s a good way to create one, but textures are one area where i just ask “why bother?” when you can get a photo-realistic photo :P!
but then i guess there is some satisfaction in making it all yourself.
as for frayed edges… dunno really. I expect it would be hard because you’d have to make the fraying actually match the different strands in your canvas texture or it would just look weird.
Yeah I think that single line is more what Im looking for.
Photoshop has a canvas texture but it sucks, I need something more realistic, or work on the one they have… I will try some macro shots of my Yute rug…
Frayed edges anyone?
