I think the best option is just that single line, not the cross stitch or anything, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

for canvas textures, i personally would just get a photo of some canvas.

Photoshop has a canvas texture but it sucks, I need something more realistic, or work on the one they have… I will try some macro shots of my Yute rug…
