I just got the invite to Freebase I requested a few months ago, and it’s as great as I anticipated (albeit a few browser bugs).
Basically, it’s a mix between Wikipedia and the semantic web. Once it becomes popular, we will have reached Web 2.9, and be very ready for 3.0. 
It essentially is a machine-readable Wikipedia, but hella fun to edit. Anybody else use it?
