How long will it take an intermediate web designer to make full flash website? - ballpark - like the advancedStudios website

this all depends on how well planned out your site is. if you have a clear direction as to what you’d like to do with your site and stick to it, you could complete a site in hardly any time at all.
however, it is often difficult to remain with your original direction as you may encounter programming difficulties, art problems, and various other glitches.
i think it’s almost impossible to give you a set time for a site to be created in, since these and many other (often unforseen) factors can come into play. the time needed will also depend on the complexity of the visuals and interaction used on your site.
each site is a new experience, whether that experience lasts a few hours, a day, or several months depends on the amount of effort and imagination that you put into your site.
Let’s say for example you have a client who wants a full flsh website like advanced studio website and your client asks you how long will it take to make one. What do you tell your client?
give me an estimate time. is it a week, a month?
Do you have any experience building a full flash web site? If you dont, I’d say: you probably wont make one in a day, week or even a month. Making a full flash site is more complicated than it seems. First of all, get comfortable with flash site structure, loading external content, transition, preloading, etc…
Try some tutorials, Kirupa has a nice Full Flash Site tutorial here.

Hand over your client
I’m doing a full flash website for a friend of mine and it’s taking me more than a month to finish it. I’m not even finished with it now, lots of actionscripting. Am I taking too long?
no so far my site has taken about 1 and 1/2 months and i’m not even close to being finished…
I dont know how advanced your project is, but it all depends on how organized you are and how solid are your concepts of flash.
And of course, sometimes we have deadlines
claudio,
how long does it take for you to make a full flash website like the www.advancedstudio.com website?
not sure but i cant tell you that i doubt eric jordan developed that entire site, and even if so im sure it took well over a few months
The person who’s making do his website has a friend who told him he could do a website in a week. Is that true?
Im not capable of making a website like 2advancedstudios. Thats way ahead my skills
Depending on the site complexity, a week is perfectly possible. The last site i made took me around 12 hours. But before i actually start building it, i had all the site structure planned. Of course, after that you always face some bugs and unexpected problems, but thats normal.
a week?, 12 hours? so you designed, imorted into flash, and wrote all server side scripting in 12 hours? i think you guys are way off. a site with a lot of info, should not take you 12 hours. i am talking about a large site with a lot of codeing and designing. i mean any one can make a site in a day or two, but i doubt you want that to be your portfolio
Digitalosophy,
how long will it take you to create a full flash website, planning, actionscripting, photo editing, and navigation included? Will a week be enough even for an expert web designer?
If you work 8-10 hours a day, a week could do it, should you have no problems, or design changes from the client…
Most of my projects are estimated at a month (you generally have to go back and forth with the client, giving them time to think about the design, and what they want the site to look like), but usually take longer due to the client not being able to make their minds up in a timely fashion.
A site like 2A is not a “normal” site. They have been known for their ability to push the design envelope. If you haven’t made a complete site before, then I suggest you estimate over a month to completion, at least.

people coudl tell you what they want but im telling you a week is pushing it. i havea full tme job, so a week is out of the qustion for me. i’d say to make a quality site woul take 2 weeks of 8-10 hours a day
