Full Screen MX - Centering Inquiry

Hi:

More and more I am seeing flash sites automatically go full screen when I access the site. (Not giving the option to go Full Screen or Normal). Is there a special script for this? (IE: www.pablodavi.com)

This is a pretty cool trick that I would like to incorporate into my future designs so any help would be cool.

I saw this thread:
http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211659&highlight=background

My Question is:
When creating the background image (in Photoshop) what size should it be. (to cater to all screen sizes). Any assistance you can give would be great. (I know its probably a dumb/easy question)

(Yes, I use Flash MX)

Thanks!

the image on the link you supplied www.pablodavi.com is 600 pixels high and 800 pixels wide

hope that helps.

and it looked ok on my screen (1280 x 800), So should i have my BG the same size. I dont care to cater to those who’s screen is 1600x1200, maybe the 1280 x 1024, but thats it.

is that cool, what are you thoughts?

Well i tried that site you psted on all the resolutions and it looked full screen. I am not aware how to make it full screen with actionscript but i think there is a full screen tutorial here. so 800 by 600 is workable if you know how to make it stretch.

or make it 1280x1024, and it can shrink down?
If it gets stretched any more than that, it will distort - right?

well free, yes but the image will take up more bandwidth and be longer to download. Like I say, they are using a 800 by 600 image so I guess there must be a way to do it. If I were you I would post this question in the actionscript section and tell them of the link and the fact that the image is 800 by 600 and I would bet that one of the actionscript guys like scotty will know how to do it

good luck with it and let me know when you figure it out.

not one person has the answer!?
can you believe this? on kirupa?
