Ok man… look, once again, this is not being sumbitted to Gizmodo. Also there isn’t a need to keep yelling in all your posts. We can see clearly what you’ve posted. Also, ppl such as myself and other members can easily get past watermarks anyway. Watermarks aren’t neccessary.

Ace, it’s unfortunate that you weren’t able to keep up w/ the thread here, but your we’ve capped the entry limit since the first post. The first post was b4 there was a prize offered, please read the previous posts and you’ll understand why this battle was capped.

I sent DDD my design the very same day that the limit was reached, it’s not like I’m suddenly now saying I want in!

Admitedly I got here after the gizmodo link, but if I’d know about the site before I would have entered had there not been a prize!

I stopped replying to these types of emails and PM’s simply because I addressed it in this thread. The limit has been reached. That was the way it had to be for organization sake. We were not anticipating a link from gizmodo. But I think we have been more than accomodating for the gizmodo folks. They actually outnumber us in the battle.

Also once again folks if you have submitted please re-submit. I have no ones screen name so I dont know who you are.

does public poll imply public within kirupa or public to the entire web?

i mention this only because i wouldn’t want this to turn into an ebay-esque get-friends-in-the-computer-lab-to-vote-at-the-last-minute affair. (and because i’m sure ya’ll have more friends to vote than i do)

and on a side note, i think someone way back suggested a shorter deadline. i graciously thank the organizers for making it how it is. it’s forced me to revise many more times already than i thought i needed to.

only registered user can vote in polls. But there is nothing stopping everyone and their mommas from signing up at K to vote…lol. Speaking of judging it will be as follows.

A private panel will select/vote for the top 5. Then the rest of the viewing public can vote on the winner out of the top 5.

Note to all,
This 25 person cap is not only ludicrous but also extremely fraudulent. Clearly, the select few that signed up first saw the lucrative prize and decided to consolidate their chances by not letting anyone else in, thinking the less that could join, the better their chances to win. These ‘elite’ have marred the integrity of this ‘fun’ contest. I will appeal to Gizmodo to rescind the prize unless this contest is opened to the masses so it can be FAIR.

Excuses that this ‘will get out of hand’ are invariably unfounded. It would take an administrator with minimal intellectual competance to say that only 25 entrants could be dealt with.

rajvashi I erased your post because we do not need those types of remarks here. This contest was handled fairly and falls under our kirupa battle forum rules. If you have a problem you can PM me. This battle was initially extended to a few people. We opened it up to accomodate gizmodo people and spots were filled on a first come first serve basis.

[SIZE=2]THIS IS NOT A $#%* CONTEST[/SIZE]…gizmodo offered a prize out of the sport of it. And there are no plans to use the winners logo or any other of the submissions.

Note to all,
There was no reason to delete my post, Mr. DDD who I am sure fashions himself to be integrity and honesty remanifested. I did not once use an expletive in my original post, so therefore, there was no reason to delete it unless there was something to hide.

All I articulated was that a sudden cap AFTER the prize was unveiled is wrong. Even if I am wrong, and I very well could be, ISN’T that for the READERS to decide?

Clearly, my opinion so dangerous, you had to delete within 90 seconds of its original posting. Indeed, actions speak louder than words.

By deleting my post, you reaffirm the belief that open ideas and free thought are values not highly regarded here.

PS: Exactly what remarks did I make were “uneeded here”? Please, enlighten me.

Honestly sorry if I am making a useless post DDD but I have not said anything till now about how these people are acting. To tell you the truth it is getting redicoulus we capped off the entry this is not a **** contest this is a just a fun thing from kirupa forums to do you should be thankful we even put some gizmodo entrants in this thing i mean this was meant for us not you so if you are going to post *****ing about this take it elsewhere as for ruki i suggest you lose the attitude before you the wrong person mad on these forums (an mod or admin).

Give me a break the cap was announced after we got 300 people trying to enter our battle. We did not know this would turn into a post on gizmodo. So please know the facts. You made rude and false accusations. I will change your posting priviledges here very drastically if this continues. I put time into organizing this and making it fair for all, even using my bandwidth to host it. So I dont appreciate your comments and accusations.

And it was 60 secs not 90 secs…I happened to be in this forum hen you made that absurd statement. Truthfully had this been in person I would have slapped the taste out of your mouth. That is how much I was offended by that statement.

Oh, VDaminator, thank you SO much for being as fair as to giving gizmodo entrants a chance… seing as that is the entity which is supplying YOU guys a prize.

You know it is this ignorant commentary that irks me at a very deep level. I’m sure VDaminator feels the same way about ‘those immigrants that should be thankful for jobs because they were meant for us not you.’

Seems like there are a few disgruntled posters here. This is a normal battle, that, coincidentally, has a prize attached to it. That’s it. There were sign-ups for a day or so after gizmodo announced it, and I believe all people who were interested in joining the contest, and **posted **their intent to join, are listed on the first page under participants.

Because having such a large battle would be extremely difficult to co-ordinate, DDD and mutedlogic agreed to a 25 entry limit. Yes, the guidelines did change, but those who expressed their interest to join by PM’ing DDD (even before the new guidelines were enacted), are still participating.

There are a minority here who think that this is somehow an us vs. them battle and that this contest is somehow unfair towards non-regular members. If you look through the list of people who are participating in this contest (see first post of this thread), you will find that there is a great mix of regular kF members and new kF members eagerly sharpening their claws to whip up the most awesome gizmodo logo ever.

Everybody had the same amount of time to join. No exceptions will be made for any member to join after the 25th entry was made. If we were to make an exception and add one more member in, we would have to make more exceptions for other members also. If we keep making exceptions, we are back to the problem of a large battle that becomes difficult to manage.

Raj - it’s too bad that you could not join before the 25th entry was closed, but try to be mature about it. Trying to play a victim in a fair and friendly contest reflects poorly on you as a screen name on my computer screen. This site hosts plenty of battles and contests year round (there is one that is concluding right now), so the organizers know what works and what doesn’t. Alas, you will first have to apologize to DDD and Mutedlogic for your accusations and baseless comments towards them, for I think you were banned for your childish behavior.
