I am trying to apply a gradient mask to a MC containing text that is inside a ScrollPane component so that the text appears to fade at the top and bottom of the ScrollPane.
My textMask_mc works correctly on the text within the ScrollPane as a normal mask, but when I set textMask_mc to use runtime bitmap caching so I can get the gradient mask effect then the text is not masked at all, including by the ScrollPane. The text just scrolls right up through the boundary of the ScrollPane component.
I have tried setting the bitmap caching through the properties of the MC and via AS, no luck either way.
