I have been to other people’s wabpages and on the links section I always saw Flash.com. So i decided to register to become a member of this forum so that i can get help from the gurus in here. So now here I am…

To start with, I wanted to know how to create a guestbook something similar to this http://tararao.com/robwell/rw/index.htm and finally how to create an effects like the owner of this page used when you click on the navigation menu.

I know that this page was made using SWiSH, but there should be a way on how to create them using flash. right? I have been reading books on using Flash, if I switch to SWiSH, I might get confused. I hope the Flash gurus in this forum can help me with my question.

well, its not a difficult task…but first, this site was designed in flash, swish is actually a program made to go along with flash used to make some cool effects…but i didnt really see any use of swich on this site…maybe i missed it…

as far as the guestbook goes…it was probably made using php and xml…it didnt look too complex…that would be my guess…check out the xml tutorials right here on kirupa to get started on this kinda stuff…

The guestbook was created in flash and uses a .txt and .php file.

However, A pluggin was then created from this, For use in Swish.

You can download the guestbook files from Swish-db.com and include it into your Swish movie.

blackpulp - All of that site is Swish, except for the guestbook and contact form (All of the stuff that would need variables and php etc)

Rob has won many Swish awards and competitions for his experience of Swish.

One thing i have noticed is, People don’t think Swish is that good, But is it alot more powerful than some believe.

However, If you know Flash, Don’t stop to learn Swish, Flash maybe harder to learn, But its alot better.

so what you mean is Download the Guestbook from, SWiSH and attached it to my website? I did try it, but it didn’t work. I dont know how to attaced it into flash as I am a newbie.

and i don’t know how to use SWiSH. thats the thing and I dont wanna mixed up my reading about using Flash and SWiSH.

Did anyone figure out, how to create that effects when you click on the navigation menu?
