Hairline in Flash

Help!

How come the hairline I drew when opened using html, it becmes a thich blurry line?

How can I change that?

it goes to thinest line possible (1px that is) no matter the magnification…

Is there any other options?

Huh?

If you have your line thickness set to hairline, or .25px, then this shouldn’t happen and there is no reason it is. I can only assume your line thickness is set to 1px. Select your lines, open up the properties panel, and in the drop down menu choose “Hairline”, and that will be a true hairline line.

lost

lostinbeta, it is a real hairline line

paisley = line won’t be thicker than 1 px (100% zoom that is)
get it?
it’s as thick as possible (1 px that is)

I get what you’re saying but i see full flash websites out there that does have very, very thin lines. How do they do that?

And…? The lowest value you can set a line to is .25. This is the equivlent of the hairline option. Check for yourself if you don’t believe me.

Well then the only reason it would get thick is because you scaled your actual movie larger than it is supposed to be in your HTML. The solution to that would be not to scale your movie :-\ If you movie isn’t scaled, then I honestly have no clue why this is happening, never happened to me before.

give an example and post your swf

i mean that line won’t appear any thicker than 1 px on the screen…

Well of course, because a monitor can only handle as little as 1px, but that doesn’t mean you can’t set it smaller. When you set a line to .25px Flash interprets that as the hairline option and won’t scale your line on magnification.

yes, i know… but i talked about the apperance all the time…

Like www.2advanced.com, it’s definitely thinner than the lines in my website

Go to www.dndfsco.com and you’ll see a graph (at least it looks like one). See how thick and blurry the line looks like?

You didn’t mention appearance :stuck_out_tongue:

Paisley: In your embed code is that the correct dimentions? (as in the ones in your Modify/Document properties in Flash)

here’s another one with thin lines

yes, it’s 828 by 576.

can i make a ‘graph’ image using photoshop? or other software?

yes you can

I found the solution to your problem. In your publish settings you have your quality set to Medium. If you set them to high it will work fine.

I found out by right clicking on your Flash movie and setting the quality to high. Works like a charm, so all you need to do is let it be high by default.
