Hard to tell this effect?

Had a quick/easy question.
Do you know how this effect is made.
Go to this url, click on the activate button, see how the white light flashes over the triangle
also, how the white masks over the logo and the bottom shape.
Is this just a white flash accross or is it a white mask with opacity set really low?
is a gradient involved?
Hard to tell for me.

I know that it is a mask, but what is the actual content(color, gradient) of the masked layer

Yes, as you click activate, the masked white fading light that beams accross the bottom menu.

main about service, etc is the menu
