Help, masking problem!

Hey guys!!

I have followed the tut on this masking thing, i get it working with text, but with images, i cant get it to work!!

I have attached some files here for you to look at, hope this thing is possible…im sure it is, just can get it!!!

:bounce:

What exactly is the problem.

Works fine for me from what I can tell.

sorry 4got to explain!!

yeah i can get the mask to go through the arcs!! the outside bit, it only goes through the face!!

:run: ( i like these new faces!! )

Oh yeah, I see the problem now. Weird, I will try and see what I can come up with, but I am not guaranteeing anything.

Eilsoe makes most of the smilies, but I know guig0 did a few that are new here too.

Ok, the problem is that you have too many objects masking.

Notice if you delete the main face part, it goes to the silver mouth part, and if you delete that, it just masks the black part of the right eye. You can only use one mask per item.

So in this case I recommend maybe exporting your image as a transparent .gif from Photoshop or something then trying it that way.

If not, better get to working that line tool and tracing your image shape :-\

yeah i did the transparent png, but it still doesnt work!!

trace the whole thing u mean??

:sigh:

Yeah, trace the basic shape and fill it in so your whole object can be one shape instead of multiple clips grouped together.

sounds like a lot of work man!! :bounce:

■■■■! :bad:

Shouldn’t be too difficult if you use the line tool.

You can draw the line and use the curve feature (if you put your mouse right next to your line) to curve it where you want it.

Like in the line art tutorial…

http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/lineart.asp

But your shape is more simple.

k thanks LoB, ill check it out =)

here ya go, fixed the problem

ok , here is a better one of it.

edit:: before i just broke apart your graphics but you lost alot of detail. On this one, i assigned another mask to the curves.

hope it what you want

better be a better one!! :run:
