HELP: unable to delete file | too long pathname

help! I was running a Telnet session (learning Unix) and decided to try out the cp command.
I kinda typed it wrong, and it went about what seems like infinite loop copying the same directory to within itself, and then that new directory will be copied within itself…
you get the idea.

resulted in something like this: http://freepgs.com/hsadan/cproblem.jpg

so now I have this neverending directories. just delete them right away, right? So I logged off Telnet, shut it down and tried to delete the parent folder.

:frowning:
I tried going into the directory to find the mysterious file, but I reached a point where the pathname is too long.

oh, and there are these 2 mysterious files that keep appearing upon deletion

Anyone got any clue how I can clean up my mess? I cant just format it cos it’s on a network drive (my school drive).
