Help with flash mx hyperlink

im pretty new to flash and im having a hard time figuring out this hyperlink stuff.
i understand how to do it, but with text, i cant figure it out. it seems like to have to click the actual text, you cant just click around the word.
if someone could help me out i’d really appreciate it. thanks

Hmm…are you talking about buttons or hyperlinks? If it’s a button then what you’re looking for is the “hit” frame of the button…but I’m lost if you’re talking about hyperlinks and you wanting to click around the text…yet not on it…yet the text is the hyperlink…Anyway, if you post the fla, maybe it’ll be clearer.

i think your right elios, sounds like hit…

What you need to do greg is double click the button to open its editing thingy, then in the button timeline create a new keyframe on the “HIT” frame, move the timeline to this frame and create a box the size you want the “button” to be, this will be invisible in the movie so use a bright garish colour like neon green… and voilah (sp?) you have a text button that hits around itself as well…

Hope thats clear enuf  :bad: :egg:

btw, if its actual text inside a paragraph that you’ve hyperlinked in its propertieis, then i think you’ll have to cope with having to click on the text, or visa versa create an invisible button behind the text that hyperlinks with the button being active only while the text is there (similiar frame span)…

you make invisible buttons by following the steps above with the HIT frame but you delete the keyframe on every frame BUT the HIT frame (sowwy if this is just confusing you more) if you post a .fla im sure on of us can help you more  heheh
