Help with taskmanager pleaseee

hi i was just wondering why when i go into taskmanager it shows programs running x2 or even x3 … is that suppost 2 be like that or what?

  1. svchosts are system tasks, leave them alone it is normal to have a bunch.
  2. Ati driver always have two processes, thats normal, one for each video output.
  3. CLI on the other hand is part of norton, it should only have one process.

i had norton … but i uninstalled it like long ago
plus i have reformatted my drive since then hm…

CLI.exe is the ATI Catalyst Control Center, so hopefully you have an ATI graphics card.

an alphabetical listing of good and bad programs that should or shouldn’t be running on your machine. disregard where it sez to use “such and such” software to get rid of programs. that’s just their sponsor talking.

Go to Run and type in msconfig.exe. Click the Startup tab and see if there are any duplicate items you can uncheck :slight_smile:

i’ve used this site many many times, it is very helpful, because it knows, i think, every process, and will also tell you if it is harmful or not. hope this helps. :)[/ot]
