Help

OK, I’m having a little problem with FrontPage 2002. Here’s the stitch:

When I start a new web (empty web), under options it says: Specify the location of the new web, then there’s a drop down menu and a button that reads Search.

On the top of FrontPage, it says: C:\Documents and settings/DJ _______ (I’m not giving out my last name)/mydocuments/mywebs/myweb.

So bascially, I don’t want that. I want it to be just like when I first installed FrontPage 2002 for the first time. Does that make sense? I’ve uninstalled FP about 4 times now, but the same thing keeps happening.

do you mean the title of your page?

Hmm, that must be stored in the registry or in some location that the uninstaller does not locate. I really don’t know how to fix that. Alex, I think he means the file location that is displayed in the drop-down menus for creating a new web. They don’t go away…unlike the URL or Document histories of Windows XP and Internet Explorer.

Cheers!

Do you think if I return it to Best Buy, I could get a new copy?

I don’t think it has anything to do with your copy of FrontPage. The only way to get the URL history in FrontPage to disappear would be to do a clean format of your system and reinstall FrontPage. I doubt another copy of FrontPage will fix the problem (I may be wrong though).

So you’re sayin’ to do a system recovery?

How do you delete the history under the section Open a page

Have you tried deleting the history in Internet Explorer? What OS are you running?

Cheers!
