Hi! I'm new and full of problems!

Hi,

My name is 8-]FutureGraphic, and I am an animator from Michigan. I started dabbling in Flash and Fireworks a few years back, and I’ve picked up quite a good amount of stuff. And Kirupa was a HUGE help to me!
I used to snoop around here a lot (and as of a month ago I started again), but now that I’m actually starting to get paid for some work, I’ve been encountering some issues.

For one, I’m using Flash MX (2002 version. Yikes!), and FireWorks MX of the same year. Both are running on a Mac PowerBook G4 with 512 RAM and 10.4.11 OSX.
Fireworks has been quitting on my a lot so I am going to try to re-install it.
Flash has issues exporting (my main really big problem!) to MOV. and the sorts.
I have a client who needs my sample work sent to him, but it won’t open up, and when I send him a MOV. converted to an MP4., it shows up all nasty and fuzzy.
I’ve tried putting it into iMovie (the old one), and exporting it from there, but it turns up fuzzy still, and it’s more pale. It sends out to them fine, but it’s just not acceptable.

I exported it from Flash using Quicktime Movie, setting it to the 32 bit Alpha channel, best quality, and matching the screen size. It opens on my computer, but when I send it to myself through email, and download it, it comes up with “this file is not a movie file”.
I think that if I send the Flash flv. file to someone here, that maybe they could convert it for me if all else fails. I would have a few more of them, and if one or some of you wouldn’t mind, I could send them to you to be converted.
I’ve tried GIF, and it gets sent out to my email fine, but it looks pretty bad, and it’s laggy.

I’m really frustrated and I don’t know what to do!:crying: :frowning:

I feel like I’m really running out of options. Would exporting the movie to Fireworks and converting it to something work? It says the flv. file failed to upload to this forum, so now I’m really getting worried. Something wrong with my Flash potentially? Help! :frowning:

Thanks in advance, I look forward to being a frequent user of this forum!
