Can I just say how much the US medical system sucks my arse…
Sunday morning I wake up and half of my left hand is numb… No big deal…
So like two hours later its still numb. Go to the sox game… still numb. I go home, crash and wake up monday morning with half a numb left hand with no strength in it.
Time to see a doctor.
I call my HMO to see what the skinny is and where to go. They have no record of me. Which REALLY pissed me off considering they had no problem taking $80/mo out of my paycheck since january when I switched over to them.
So essentially I need to re-fill out all the paperwork - re-select a primary care physician and wait another 24-48 hours to get into the system to have coverage.
I so cant go to a doctor till I have coverage because an MRI alone costs like more than two grand or some ****.
Fine… redo all the crap… send it in. Tuesday wake up with a numb hand.
Yup something is clearly wrong.
Call my provider… Nope still not processed. Deal with it another day…
Yesterday Still numb and no mobility… Call… I am processed. Yippy skippy… I have coverage for the insurance I have been paying for since January.
Call my primary care physician… Sorry he is not in today I am told. Then they ask me to make an apointment…
WTF?!
So then they tell me to go to the emergency room. I drive to the hospital and wait an hour there. Took an X-ray? :lol: For a numb hand… right.
Anyhow. They refer me to a hand specialist… and shovel me out the door.
I go out to my car and call the hand specialist… The lady tells me they cant see me without a referal from my primary care doctor…
Beautiful…he isnt there today…Call them back to see what I can do now… They tell me they will call tomorrow.
So Today…Still numb and useless…
Get a call from the doctor. He tells me he cant give me a referal without an appoitment date…
I call the specialist back…
They cant give me a date without a referal.
Now my question to you folks.
Which office should I burn to the ground first?
