How do i create play and stop buttons?

i have made a banner for my website which has some mp3 playing in the background.

i want little ‘play’ and ‘stop’ buttons underneath it so that they play and stop the music in the banner.

they can be part of the banner but preferably not.

the music in the banner is the only music/sound effect on the page.

so, what do i do?

Make a movie that has just the music you want in it.
The stage can be 5px x 5px coz you want ever see it.

Make the music do whatever you want it to do, E.G loop, stop at the end, bla bla bla.

Optimize it in the library [I set it to MP3, best quality then listen to the rate quality by ear… Works for me].

Now make another movie that is the same size as the music movie, only keep it empty.

Make a play button that loads the music movie on say level 20.

Make a stop button that will load the empty movie on level 20.
[You could make the stop button just Unload level 20 it doesn’t matter]

This is a very basic method that uses NO AS or anything. I would have done a better job of it for you but I’m off to 7-11 to get my coffee. :wink:
