How do I do this?

I published this site, (it was done on flash mx) but when people go to it if they don’t have a flash player 6 installed it shows a blank screen, what do I do to allow everyone see it, and when I tried to publish it as a lower version (3,4 ,5) it wouldn’t let me:sigh:, I am a newborn baby at this so please explain it real easy thank you for your help =)

You can’t export to a lower version if your movie contains Flash MX only Actionscript… or components (components are only Flash MX).

The only way people can view your site is if they have the Flash 6 plug in for their browser.

You can use Kirupas flash 6 detection script to see if they have it…
http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/detection.asp

And/or you can include a link on your page in HTML that goes directly to the macromedia Flash 6 plugin download page.

personally i like the detection script better than anything else, but who ays you can’t have both, you might wanna try one of those “if you can’t see this animation, you need flash player 6” they allow you to use a little humor, but the detection script is the best i think.

:trout:

That’s odd because normally it’s setup to redirect a quick download to upgrade if you are publishing both the flash and html, unless you wrote your own html it should always do that.

I was thinking the same thing Rynoe, but I have never experienced that problem so I didn’t know for sure.

Yes, There is a plethera (if I am spelling that right) of tools for version detection, macromedia is well aware of this and they deal with it well on their end. I did run into a problem before about getting white boxes in xp but mostly it was firewall issues and specific computer problems.
