if you’re talking about the static image at the top it’s either photoshop, an actual photo of smoke, or a good production proggy that does smoke (combustion?houdini?)
I’d go for the photo-
Yeah i figured that they would of used photoshop to create that smoke effect. But does anyone KNOW how they made it… because i wanna make a similar effect on this website that i am building…
Am i missing something I did not see a smoke effect? But I am going to take a stab at it anyway. For the most convincing smoke I would use combustion or AE. Or you can do it with particle effect from a 3d app. Then export it to flash. But since I missed the smoke effect I have no idea what you are exactly referring to.
do you mean the image on the top of the site, which has the words liquidchrome design?
if so, you can get that look with photoshop as mentioned before, start with simple strokes in a fashion that you want the smoke to go. then play around with feathering selection, layer styles, opacity and curves.
Actually if he is talking about that bubble/gel button looking logo. You are better served doing that in Fireworks. WHy you asked? Glad you asked. Because you will be able to resize it to whatever size and it will be lossless. You can achieve that very same look look in FW. Not hard at all.
Quite alot of posts here guys…
yeah im talking about that static “smoke” effect at the top of the page. I was getting the impression some of you guys were looking for a flash animation of smoke. But yes, the smoke effect was what i was after…
