How did they make the dots? I have an image and I want to make the image “dotty” not the background, how do I do this?
in photoshop 7 fo to filter/pixelate/color halftone
you have to set the RGB settings thouhg it wont let you choose what color they are
But that covers the whole image with black and white dots! how do I make the image show?
use this image and perhaps you can tell me what to do!
ok, what part of the image do you want to show
hold a sec ill whip something up
the background can be discarded, I want the statues to have the dots!
like this, or do you want to give the actual statues to have dots
No other way around, the statues to have the dots! Can you tell me how you did it?
or like this
just use the lasso tool to select the dummies and apply the filter
ok thanks! It didn’t turn out the way I thought it would! I was hoping that the statues would show more! thanks anyway!
ok make two layers with the dummies and apply one layer with the dots and mess around with the layer uh filters, or blending settings whatever they are
Hey cookieme, the statues won’t come out detailed because the dots in the pattern are spread apart giving the viewer a non focused view, making it hard to distinguish the shape.
also you are using a shape that is way too complicated… a single front view siloete of a person (as used in the org ex) is very easy for the human eye to recognize… so loosing detail (as lost mentioned) does not make the image hrad to see, so the effect works… what you were using is hard to make out at first glance even when it was in full color - so doing an effect that may make it more unclear just would not have a hope of working… stick with something simple when playing with this effect.
