How to achieve this mask effect?

hi,

i want achieve this effect :

as you can see on my site try-out here i use a mask effect to reveal bg picture.
now i want to use a mask effect that makes the current image disappear on pressing button to go to other section.
(on entering new section i want to use a mask again to reveal new image etc.)

how should i approach this … ?

(i hope someone understands what i mean :beam: )

The easiest thing would probably be to tween everything. Scripting that kind of things could be painful.

turn your image into a movie clip, then use setMask to apply different effects. Also, a sneaky way to do it, is to simply use an MC on top of your image… almost looks like a mask. Personally, I would use setMask.

You should ask reverendFlash. If I understand you, he had a simular thing on his old footer.
