How to embed video file in flash?

Hi all,

I need to embed a video file in flash, how do I go about doing this?

What is the best method (keeping file size in mind)?

I have 3 video formats that need to be embedded in flash. They are real player, window media player and quicktime. Do I need to embed all three or can I get away with embedding only one? Reason for all three is to make sure that someone will be able to view it without having to download the player. I imagine, a user will have one of the three already installed on his/her machine.

Please all help on this matter is great appreciated.

Thanks.

If you want to play the movie inside the swf then you have to import just one of them. I suggest the quicktime format.

BUT, if you want the visitors to download the movies and watch them offline, then you don’t need to embed them. Just use 3 links in your movie that open these 3 files in a new window…

In regard to your comment about viewing videos offline, I need to launch the movies in the flash interface itself.

Any suggestions?

I don’t get it.

You just have to put links inside the swf which will target movies.
3 buttons that will open them.

What do you mean by “launch”?
Something like screenshot or preview maybe?
