How to render Fight Club Soap?

What up d&d.
Im looking to render a bar of soap, with text, and bubbles, just like the soap from Fight Club. Im sure you all know what I mean, if not I’ll find a pic of it and post. Im guessing some kind of 3d software. I’ve never used 3d apps, so if that is the solution, then could someone point me to some good apps to check out. Seems 3dsm is pretty popular. I’ll try to render this in Photoshop but it just seems like a 3d app is the way to go. Let me know whats up.

3d app is the way to go…sub d or nurbs model. The bubbles could be done with hypervoxels or particles…Or even modelled.

But which app you use makes a big diff

sub d or nurbs model? hypervoxels or particles? 9 er?
I don’t know what your sayin

well when you get your software, look up those terms. then that will put you on your way

okay, real quick, would you recommend a particular app?

Lightwave…then 3d Studio max

def 3ds max… what you’ll wanna do (in max) is create your soap, then your letters, and do boolean addition.

Whats up!? I can’t get 3dsm for a mac?

running a mac, try maya or cinema.

thanks soulty, actually I just copped amapi, i’ll give that try. I’ll also check out your suggestions. Thanks everyone for the input.
