How to switch to chinese character

Hi everyone:

I’m a Mac user. I need to type chinese character in Illustrator, Photoshop and Pagemaker. But I found it doesn’t work in English software. Is that mean I must find chinese version?

Help my ASAP

Thanks,

Lydia

If you have a chinese font you can use that, I assume.

actually it is a lil more invovled than that due to the nature of the chinese language. You have to install the language pack for OS. Contact Apple. I just recently did it for Ukranian and japanese…although I am on a pc I believe it to be similar in nature…you may have to do some key board mapping also. In XP you can just switch back and forth

yup - all you have to do (probably) is go to apple’s website and d/l language packs…

The other way is to use a chinese font - although you are going to have one helluva hard time to type out everything the letters being different and more numerous (i think)

what you could do with the font is set up a table - oneside for the english letters and the other side the corresponding character…

An easier way would be to ask someone on the other side of the pacific to type it up for you using that same font

cheers - mlk

Thanks man:
