How would I go about doing this?

I have been asked to do a sort of gallery for my friend’s films in flash and he has uploaded all his films onto a site and I am using the load external file AS but I know that if I do a: Click the button and then the movie will load, then the movie would come up and the menu would disappear wouldn’t it, should I put the AS into a MC and then place the MC so that the menu will stay there?
