ok… i have found an effect i would like to use, however it is not used how i would like to use it… basically if you goto http://www.dre2001.com u will see when u put ur mouse over the cannibis leaf smoke will appear… that is what i would like in a background of my flash intro… repeating over and over smoke all over the screen untill the end of my intro… any help???

Just create a movie clip of the smoke and dont put a stop action in the end frame, this will make it loop continuously.

Then put that movie clip in a layer in you intro.

well im kinda new to flash… not completely new but kinda new… i also need to know how to get the effect of smoke first… thanks

Right well since you say your new i’m going to assume you know nothing :).

Basically what it looks like is a simple frame by frame shape tween. That means that on the first ‘key frame’ the smoke is a particular shape, then on the next ‘key frame’ the shape is modified a little. Then a shape tween is put between those two key frames. You do that for as long as you want. I’d put each of the smoke bars (cant think what else to call them, there’s three of them though) on a different layer.

If you didnt understand that take some of the tutorials built in Flash. They do help if you dont know where you should start.

Come back after taking them and if your still having trouble i’ll help some more.

ahhhhhhhh tutorials dont help me… well they do… ones like the kirupa ones were great at explainin’ especially wid pics, i learnt most of the kirupa ones !!!

Any 1 know any other sites with effects tutorials?

Ok, well answer these questions:

1 - Do you know what tweening is?
2 - Do you know the difference between a motion tween and a shape tween?
3 - Do you know about the basic ActionScript(AS) commands? e.g stop();
4 - Do you understand what symbols are, the different types and their uses?

If you answered no to any of those then do a little reasearch and i’m sure after understanding it all you’ll have no trouble making your own ‘smoke’ effect…as well as many other neat things.
