i was surfing the web and came across this intro to a board-game site…any one know how they did the globe(how it was clear)?http://www.contiquences.com/
Probably with a 3D software.
Also check flashkit: http://www.flashkit.com/search.php?cat=movies&field=Description&per=10&page=1&term=globe
pom
Ive seen that globe at least 3 other times before. I believe it can be found on Flashkit (probably in an fla or tutorial or something) if not in some other common library.
…actually I worked on a project involving it (for someone else) and from what I remember its two layers, the outter and inner (backside of the globe) making it see through is just changing its transparency and the blue accent/hilight/shadow is just a gardient overlay
here’s one I work with that I adapted from a tute on FlashKit. It’s basically the same strip of continents tweened horizontally across a gradient fill under a circular mask.
The ‘back’ of the transparent globe is simply flipped horizontally to give the impression you are looking at the underside of the landmasses. Throw in an alpha fade and shrink it a bit and you get a decent cheat at volume.
hope it helps!
