Hybrid css + some flash

I am a print designer who likes to dabble in website design… This is one of my first flash experiments. I am really bad with code and usually have no clue why things work in the end but it is fun to play with none the less. I don’t claim to be a porgrammer and by no means a web designer. I just recently took a stab at designing my cycling teams website for the 2006 bike racing season. I wanted to try and use css and get away from tables. I also was interested in using flash to enhance certain pages/ parts of the site. The team is somewhat young, fun and does not really fall within the typical mold of a elite cyclist ( cocky, arrogant, etc.). So my plan is to have some cool flash elements in the masthead/media band that falls just below the navigation. I used tutorials from this site to accomplish all the flash elements and I used some tutorials from alistapart.com to do the css, the sound is from Flashkit.com. The still life ( helmet, etc) was photographed with a crappy digital camera. I wanted to give a sense of just finishing a ride or a race… this is the only page with flash on it so far so you really only have a little to look at but hey… it is getting there.:cowboy:

Take a look and please tear it apart or at the least give some critiscm, etc.
