For the past few years I’ve been working on the grounds crew at a local golf course. It’s something I enjoy doing but it’s not my choice for a career. But I came across a job opening for an Assistant Superintendent position at a private course and figured I’d go ahead and apply, not expecting a reply because I don’t have a Turf Management degree. I was just thinking that if they were going to pay me what they were offering I may as well give it a shot!
Surprisingly I did get a call for an interview which I went to today. The Superintendent offered me the job a few hours later over the phone! But in the meantime my current Superintendent had been working to get me the same pay. So I declined the new offer and I’m going to stay with the current course for over twice the pay I had been getting!!!
Of course I can’t find a job with a company doing web design (which I do have a degree in)! Oh well, this will do for now.
