on a more serious note… possibly alienate someone who already loves you… ie do something that would harm the love from your family to gain the love of someone else… but I dunno, love is a weird thing and has led people to do just about every crazy thing in the book… hmmmm
im not sure about the meatloaf thing, besides the fact that he had man-boobs in fight club, but there was this R&B song released not too long ago that drove me freaking nuts…
the chorus repeated, i bet you think this song is about you, over and over again.
As phil pointed out about the Carly Simon song, the song IS about that person, if your talking to them…
Geez, do these so called ‘musicians’ think at all before they shoot this slop out of their bowels and onto the lyric pages? I doubt it…
I think the worst is that song by Alanis Moreste “Ironic”
None of the things she sings about are actualy Ironic at all or do not fit the defenition of ironic. Is this waht makes the song ironic? The fact that you wuld expect a song called Ironic to have soemthing ironic in it but it doesn’t which makes it ironic? Or did she just forget to read the definetion of ironic before she wrote the song.
i saw a comedian on conan o brien who pointed that out about the song. He quoted the lyric, ‘traffic jam when your already late…’
he said something like, 'how the heck is that ironic? its not, its just really crappy. The only way it would be ironic is if you were stuck in a traffic jam, on your way to a city planners meeting to talk about the problem of traffic jams in the city…" it was hilarious. wish i could remember the comic’s name…
“That” meaning break your heart or leave you or anything that would do so…
the reason why i thought that is because if he did anything AND that, then that would be a major contradiction and not helping in the “Love” aspect of that relationship.
Henceforth, “That” has to be something that would make her not be in love with him anymore, thats why he “wont do that”.
