Illustrator CS to Flash MX-Tweening

I’m working on a project where I created a robot in Illustrator. The robot consists of different parts, which are separate layers in Illustrator. I imported it into Flash MX as a shockwave, then broke it apart into the various parts.

Now I want to tween one of the arms… but it won’t work. The whole imported movie acts all funny. What’s going on? Is there an import issue I don’t know about?

Maybe you should import it as Illustrator (save it back to v8 – Flash doesn’t always like CS). Once in flash, ungroup it, and F8 each part (arm, head, leg) as it’s own symbol. Then animate 'em.
