I'm in serious trouble

hey i need help from all the flash gurus out there! please help me! i think i’m in serious trouble

i created site entirely flash which is only 94kb but it took forever for my friends to load it up! i don’t know why. please have a look at www.geocities.com/coolrocko and please help me to fix it!! please!! and please don’t laugh at it! ;( just an experimental project!! help me!! thanks a lot first from me!!:!:

I think this may have something to do with it…

you have the file coming from your mydocs folder - it has to be from a local folder on the server…

so u mean i have to upload the file to the server?? can u guys teach me how to do it??

just open up your geocities account, go into the filemanager and upload your movie there.

so your link in your flash movie would be “http://www.geocities.com/yoursitehere/movie.swf”

haha no problem for the help.

To fix your problem just go to, in flash, “file” and then “publish settings” click on the “html” tab at the top and make sure that the dimensions are set to “match movie” and the quality is “high” You can also slelect how you would like it centered on your page with the flash alignment at the bottom.

You have to copy and paste the URL into the address bar because Geocity wont allow direct links to their sites.

Also - Fred, I noticed on your site, you should had a “hit field” on your buttons so the entire button is a link - not just the letters. To do this go into your button properties and on the “hit” section creat a box with no outlines that surrounds the entire word in your button.

Dont worry about the colour of the box because it wont show up - it’s just a hidden attribute that will tell flash how big of an area you want the button to have.
