Image crossfade on cursor movement

Hey, everyone-

I’m very new to actionscripting, and I’m running into (what I think is a) pretty big wall. Hopefully one of you can help.

Basically, I have two different background images for my navigation bar. I want the two images to crossfade between each other incrementally depending on the position of the mouse cursor.

I was thinking I could do this with an OnClipEvent (mouseMove) and an attach movie command, but I’m not really sure how that works… like I said, i’m just starting out, and I’m thinking I’ve bitten off more than I could chew.

Could anyone point me towards some tutorials or sample code that would help me get going?
