^^ Probably get the crap kicked out of me. But I doubt I’d get thrown in prison or even charged with a crime. Name calling is not a criminal offense. Depending on how long I did it, or how in his/her face I was I could potentially be charged with harassment.
You can stand on a street corner and spot all the sexist/racist things you’d like. Eventually a police officer will probably come by and tell you to leave as you’re disturbing the peace but you won’t be arrested.

You and many, many, many others.
I’d propose no one be afraid to say anything. Of course then people would say “then people will kill you”, which leads to “violence should be universally illegal”, which leads to “why should violence be illegal and certain phrases not be?”, which leads to Anarchy vs. Law
…But if violence was universally illegal, and that was our only law, I think mankind could do some pretty cool stuff.

Edit: @Syous: Is your avatar Zach de la Rocha?
Not necessarily. Europeans tend to have more social freedoms, Americans tend to have more Political and Economic freedom (though we’ll see about that come November).
@W1sh - You should DEFINTELY read ‘The Law’ by Frederic Bastiat, you Libertarian, you.
On that note, this is getting really close to ‘ordered’, so I’ll alleviate things a bit.
Americans have more political freedom or we are convinced we do? We’ll see again this November that we’ve been getting screwed in the ballot department for a while now.

Reading is hard. >.<!
I’ve been meaning to read this book about the Weathermen for about a month now and almost never put my free time to good use. Then again, I could stinkread it.

You can’t expect everyone to believe the insurgents have set up a better propaganda campaign than our rich govt.
Edit: lol, and even if IBC is a propaganda mechanism made by the [whisper]terrorist[/whisper] then we still have the international media corporations that we puppet making sure people don’t read too much into things like body counts.
Thanks w1sh. Thanks for keeping it civil guys, that could have gotten ugly. Let’s stay away from debates or I’ll have to close the thread.

We can’t argue politics? Eck. Luna is one of THEM! :gm:
[ot] You may or may not know about a part of the forum we used to have called “Ordered” where folks could debate whatever they wanted to. As you can imagine it got really hot and heavy sometimes, with folks getting out of control. A couple of mods left over it, not to mention the banning of many members, and Kirupa closed it to keep the forums Flash/code/art centered, as there are many other places on the web to discuss politics, etc.
So that’s why the mods (not just me) come down pretty heavy handed when discussion that aren’t forum-friendly pop up.
Ani rules. The only artist I make sure to never miss when she rolls through my part of the world. :hr: [/ot]
Seems like a lot of work, but if you’re interested in helping out with some other sites like http://wearechangevirginia.org, that would be be awesome - pm me.
