how do i import something i made in swift3d into flash?
V3 came with its own importer deal allowing direct imports into flash via their special filetype (whatever that was, I havent used it enough to have it on memory at this point), though typically, as was the case with V2, you exported the animation as a swf, then imported that swf into a movieclip/graphic in flash.
File > Import
Swift 3D V3’s file format is SWFT. When you install version 3 you get a choice on whether to install the importer for flash. The SWFT format allows for layers (colours, shadows, etc) and a separation of moving and non-moving objects to save on file size. You import it the same way you do with a SWF file… File–>import
I love Swift 3D and I use it a fair bit, but I’m a 3D Max user so I really want to get my hands on Discreet’s Plasma.
Im not too happy with swift 3D :hair: They fixed a lot of the issues with V2 but all in all (though it does have some great new features) I was kind of expecting a little more.
Plasma Id love to try though… seems like theres a lot of potential with that, though it is in a whole different ball park when compared to swift3d
I’ve played with the demo of Plasma and it supports bones, most max modifiers, physics and a whole lot more. It is a completely different ballpark! Of course, its a whole different price range too… Swift 3D is basic, but it gets the job done and at surprisingly small file sizes.
I think the swift 3d plugin for max might do the same job as purchasing plasma, but I haven’t been able to compare the 2 yet. I think both might be out of my price range anyway.
