Microsoft as some of you know, released 3 patches yesterday April 14, 2004.
Here in our department a user installed these patches running Windows XP. For whatever reason, it severely crippled his computer, causing a dump and reload of the image. Now this could be user error, however it supposedly was a “routine update.”
Be advised, the patches apply to systems dating back to Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0.
If you are running XP I would hold off a couple of days.
Also Microsoft, according to sources in a related division will be releasing Service Pack 2 soon; as in before mid-summer.
