I’m working on a portfolio site for myself, and I’ve run into a bit of an issue. I have a background with a blank movie clip centered on it that’s essential loading an individual .swf for each part of the site, portfolio, contact, etc…
The problem is, for whatever reason the movie clips that I’m loading are absolutely refusing to show up. I’ve been able to use the trace command and discern that the movie clips are in fact loading, but for some reason or another they’re not visible. Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but if someone could take a look I’d be quite thankful.
I’ve included a link at the bottom of the post to download the entire project as it’s a bit too large to attach; open the background.fla file to take a look at the issue I’m running into.
Also, I have a somewhat broader question to ask about regarding this design. Open the index.fla file and take a look at the actionscript. Is this the best/most effective/only way to go about achieving the effect I want?
And finally, I’m running into issues with keeping the blank movie clip box in the background.fla file staying centered, in particular after loading a new movie clip into it. If the window is resized, the box moves down the screen a bit.
If anyone could give me some input on these issues and the site design in general I’d be incredibly appreciative.
