With all of the thing you can do in flash there is virtually an endless array of possibilities. But still I find myself blocked creatively. I’ve been to lots of sites from the Kool Sites forum and the Site of the Week sections and most of them are exellent in design and function. That is my goal; to have a site that is worthy for my audience. The problem is I know what content I want to offer but at the moment I am confussed about how to deliver this content. Not so much in the medium but the actual design and functionality of the site. I guess what I’m getting at is uniqueness. Alot of pages leave a lot to be desired in the functional part but look awesome (i.e. user interaction/navigation). One site that sticks out in my mind that is great is ro-audio.com by drawing art. That is pretty much exactly how I want my site to look/behave but I don’t want to copy the design of someone else just because I like it. The main thing holding me back at the moment is the balance. By “the balance” I mean the even exchanges between design and function. I think when I start laying out my site I think 50 steps ahead and I’m like (well this is gonna be a movieclip so I can load this section here, and I need a mask here, the as code would be like, etc). I guess the final ?uestion I’m asking here is when you design a site what steps do you follow, what tools do you use outside of flash that complement what you’re trying to acomplish, and what is good practice when sizing comes in to play. I’m not asking anyone to hold my hand and walk me through flash because I have books, videos, and kirupa.com for that. What I’m asking is for input on your process as a flash website designer and how you go abou t your planning and creation. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance.
