At my work we often put PDF files into a external Pageflip component/service that another company supports and host.(Pageflip = viewing pdf just like turning pages in a real newspaper). PDF has like 10-24 pages. The content can be car dealers, other business ads, shopping companies. And sometimes it’s articles combined with ads.
I work at a local magazine and the Pageflip thingy is a bit of a discussion because we don’t know if our readers like it when they surf our website. Even some at my office don’t like it but can’t present another solution.
They say that why not upload the PDF and get rid of the pageflip. Is this a better idea?
We don’t know any other solution to viewing PDF and presenting the PDF content nicely and interesting (so that it catches an interest into buying things from the advertisers).
And a way for us to maybe sell more ads.
Does anybody know if the pageflip is popular and worth having still? Have you come across some opinions of it? why still use it and why do companies use it?
Is there a better way to view a content of a PDF? So its maybe interactive and can be viewed easy. Is there any other interactive solution? or service.
We can’t produce time consuming flash solutions, so we need a way to put the content in quickly. Like the cardealers, the cars or whatever the adverstisers and ads are.
