Interesting question

A duck is in the center of a circular pond. There’s a fox on the perimeter of the pond who wants to catch the duck. The duck wants to get out, but can only fly away when he’s on land, as in when he reaches the edge of the circular pond. The duck and fox each have a maximum speed. What is the maximum ratio of the speed of the fox to the speed of the duck such that the duck can always escape from the pond?

Answer away.
